On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Team Quality Corp shares a reflection from Patricia Megide, CEO of the company, on the progress achieved toward equal opportunities and the challenges that still remain.

A Path Built by Generations of Women
As Patricia Megide reflects:
“This Sunday marks a date that has been commemorated for more than a century — a moment that invites us to reflect on that journey.”
Over time, progress toward equality between men and women in both the workplace and political spheres has been significant, although realities still vary widely depending on where people are born or live.
“While equality between men and women in the workplace and in politics still varies greatly depending on where one is born or lives, it is undeniable that tremendous progress has been made. And that progress was possible thanks to courageous women who stood up and fought for what should have been natural: equal opportunities.”
Many of these women opened paths that once seemed closed, creating opportunities for the generations that followed.
“They opened doors that once seemed closed. Thanks to them, people like me experience a different reality today.”
The Importance of Environment and Example
Advancing toward more equal societies also depends on the environment in which new generations grow and develop.
“If we consider time and context, many young people today find it difficult to understand why gender differences existed — and in some places still exist. Perhaps it has to do with the upbringing and the environment in which they grow.”
In this sense, Patricia highlights the importance of the examples we set every day and the values we pass on through family, education, and work.
“Let us be conscious of how we raise our children and of the example we set every day.”
